American Idol season 8: American Idol is revamping the Season

Published by realfan at 4:01 pm under Entertainment Edit This

According to information garnered from “Access Hollywood”, American Idol is making a few general changes for their upcoming January kick off. Most of us American Idol fans are more than aware, the judge panel will now be four judges, instead of 3. That is old news.

American Idol usually kicks off their seasons by treating us all to a month of the auditions. Many of us have enjoyed watching some of the most bizarre, “wanna-be” singers in the US vie for the hollywood tryouts. It has become an American Idol tradition! Upcoming season 8 is going to be a little different.

These season 8 American Idol auditions have been shortened to only three weeks, with two weeks of the Hollywood rounds.  Maybe, they will show the unreleased out-takes from these often insane auditions on another cable channel, further down the dial. Also, there will be a lot fewer crazy auditions being shown, in favor of airing more inspired talent.

Another revamp will be, the serious contender’s list of hopefuls. In the past, American Idol narrowed down the talent to 24 contestants. This season, American Idol has decided to broaden the contenders to 36, all shooting for the fame and fortune. In short time, Idol will whittle down the 36 contestants to the Top 12.

With the list of 36 contestants, there will be more 2 hour American Idol evenings than ever before. This is a good thing! A bad thing is, “Idol Gives Back” will not be happening this upcoming season! This is really a sad state of affairs. “Idol Gives Back” has always generated vast amount of money and resources for those in the world, that are in dire need of assistance.
